School of Mathematics Teaching

Before you arrive

Providing new students with important information and key tasks to complete before beginning your degree.

Starting Your Degree

As well as starting university, you will also need to adapt to studying at university level.

Learn course

As a new student, you will be enrolled on an online course (in Learn, the University’s virtual learning environment) which contains all the information and tasks for you to work through in order to prepare for your arrival in the School of Mathematics. Tasks include researching course choices, completing preparation for online learning, and completing the diagnostic test. You should read all the information carefully and complete most of the tasks before Welcome Week.

School of Mathematics Undergraduate Handbook

The Undergraduate Handbook introduces you to key members of the School and provides an overview of all aspects of your undergraduate degree. You should read this fully before your arrival. It is included within the above Learn course, as well as being linked below. You will need to log into Learn in order to view the handbook. A plain text version is also available.
