Availability of personal tutors.
It is important that Personal Tutors make themselves available to see students quickly on request.
An appointment should certainly be granted within a reasonable time period, and certainly no later than three working days. Where a Personal Tutor is away for a short period, due to illness or commitments away from Edinburgh, they should advise Tutees by email who may be contacted for help and information during the period of absence.
If you will be away from Edinburgh and unable to check your email regularly, you should make an out-of-office notification advising students that they can seek assistance through:
Students are also advised to use this email address if they have not had a prompt (normally within three working days) response from their personal tutor, or if their enquiry is urgent. This email address is monitored by the SLA and the MTO
