Initial training session

Preparation

1. Read the introduction to the book "How Learning Works" and think of at least two questions you have relating to the reading. You can access the ebook from the library using this link.
2. Consider the mock assignment and its mark scheme sent to your over email.   Then mark and provide feedback on the CAP submissions.  Be prepared to justify your decisions in the session. 
3. Review the information in the Tutor Hub.

Semester 1 Induction  - Thursday 14th September 2023 (all day) Room - Hawthorn Teaching Studio (Nucleus - KB)

For new tutors starting tutoring within the School of Mathematics for Semester 1 23/24

09:15 - 09:30 : Intro to the day

09:30 - 10:15 : Intro for UoE tutors (DDOT, Admin, Student Support)

10:15 - 10:45 : Questions and discussion on assigned reading (HW join)

10:45 - 11:00 : Break

11:00 - 11:45 : Facilitating workshops

11:45 - 12:30 : Marking and Feedback

12:30 - 13:30 : Lunch and Meet the COs (HW depart)

13:30 - 14:30 : Disability Training 

14:30 - 14:45 : Refreshments

14:45 - 15:45 : Computer Workshops 

Semester 2 Induction  - Tuesday 9th January 2024 (all day) Room Hawthorn Teaching Studio

For new tutors starting tutoring within the School of Mathematics for Semester 2 23/24 Infromation has moved to the Sharepoint page but we will follow a similar schedule as above.
